Privacy Policy

How Finawo collects, uses and protects your information.

This is a plain-language starter policy provided as a template. Have it reviewed by a lawyer before you rely on it. Last updated 2026.

What we collect

We collect the information you give us when you create an account, such as your name and email, and the financial data you choose to connect or import, such as accounts, transactions, invoices and inventory. When you connect a bank through Plaid, you authenticate with your bank directly, and we receive access tokens rather than your banking credentials.

How we use it

We use your information to provide Finawo: to show your dashboard, compute runway, burn, forecasts and budgets, and to let the assistant answer questions against your own data. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your financial data to advertise to you.

  • To operate and improve the product for you
  • To secure your account and prevent abuse
  • To communicate with you about your account

How we protect it

Provider access tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to your workspace is scoped by membership and role, and changes to your books are recorded in an audit log. See our Security page for more detail on our practices.

Sharing

We share data with the service providers that help us run Finawo, such as our database host and Plaid for bank connectivity, only as needed to provide the product. We may disclose information if required by law.

Your choices

You can disconnect a data source, export your data, or ask us to delete your account. Reach us at privacy@finawo.com and we will help.
